Professional Examination

The first step towards your pet’s oral health is a professional examination by one of our veterinarians. They will tell you if your pet needs his or her teeth cleaned and recommend a specific dental hygiene program for your pet.

Cat

Proper Diet

Just like us humans, junk food is not only bad for your pet in general; it’s also bad for their oral hygiene. Our veterinarians can recommend a diet that will help maintain your pet’s teeth and gums while providing him or her with well-balanced nutrition.

Brush

Home Dental Care

Brushing your pet’s teeth is the most effective way to remove plaque. Plaque starts to form after your pet eats and spreads over all tooth surfaces except those cleaned naturally by dietary abrasion.

Generally speaking, we recommend brushing as an important part of your pet’s oral hygiene program. Human toothpaste can be harmful if your pet swallows it. It’s important to use products specifically designed for animals.

Oral rinses designed for cats and dogs are another alternative. While not as effective as brushing, they provide a good method of killing bacteria and slowing the accumulation of plaque.
